Boskeun - De Dolle Brouwers

Boskeun – De Dolle Brouwers

Boskeun is a word derived from the juicy West-Flemish dialect. It means rabbit of the woods or forest rabbit. According to the Dolle Brouwers, the name is also the nickname of Dr Jo Herteleer. Apparently he got the nickname after getting into a fight with his brother Kris Herteleer.

The injury on his upper lip resembled a bit of a harelip, and hence he got the name. The addition of the word “Bos” followed later… as did the beer.

Brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

I’d love you to try more De Dolle beers, take a look at what others I have HERE!
