We’ve got classics, old favourites, and four new beers never seen as yet in Otter’s Tears, it’s an Impy Stout lovers dream and is available for delivery or to collect in the shop. (Shop collection must still be pre-ordered here)
So here you go, in no particular order..
Magic Rock – BA De Mole – A double mashed Bourbon Barrel Aged Mexican Mole inspired Imperial Stout brewed in collaboration with Brouwerij de Molen.
Great Divide – Yeti – Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes.
Emelisse – Imperial Stout Red Wine Barrel Aged – White Label; a special series of beers! Once brewed and aged in old (whiskey) casks give the beer its exceptional status. The beer is removed from the barrels at the right time, this timing ensures an intense taste experience. This White Label is barrel aged on Red Wine barrels. Kees Bubberman of Brewery KEES was formerly head brewer at Emelisse.
Harveys – Imperial Extra Double Stout – mperial Extra Double Stout is regarded as one of the World’s most unusual and prestigious beers. The recipe contains a dense concentration of varied malts and hops to produce a bottle conditioned stout of 9.0%
Omnipollo – Noa Pecan Mud Cake – A big bold and a little crazy Imperial pastry stout. Big rich aromas of pecan, caramel and sticky toffee pudding, a dessert in a glass.
Dugges – Big Idjit – This is a bigger and bolder version of our classic imperial stout Idjit. So, what does that make this beer then? An imperialer (it’s a word) stout? A more imperial stout? Let’s just say it’s big. Big idjit!
Buxton/Omnipollo – Yellow Belly (2017) – This beer needs no introduction especially in recent times since the copywrite courts made the rediculous decision that the beer was to be no more in it’s current guise. These bottles have been cellared for over 12 months and are set to become a bit of a collectors item should you have the willpower to resist opening it. (A bold and outspoken peanut butter & biscuit Imperial Stout, however, it is brewed without peanut butter or biscuit.)
Haand Bryggeriet – Death By Disco Bourbon BA – Imperial Blueberry Milk Stout aged on Bourbon Barrels. It’s everything you’d expect it to be and more..
Founders – KBS – A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter. (2017 vintage)
Het Uiltje – Meneer de Uil – Auchentoshan – A complex beer, aged in Scottish Highland whiskey casks, unveiling aromas of coffee, chocolate and vanilla!
Decadence – Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout – The bourbon barrel-aged version of Marble’s crazy-tasty 2017 Decadence Imperial … and dark roasted coffee, all washed down with the warmth of bourbon.
De Molen – Mooi & Meedogenloos Amarene Cherry Bourbon Barrel Aged – Mooi & Meedogenloos (Beautiful & Ruthless) combines both Belgian style Quadruple and Imperial Stout. Sweet and spicy like an Abbey Quadruple but roasted and full bodied like an Imperial Stout. This edition has been brewed with Amarene Cherry and aged in bourbon barrels. The Amarena cherry is a small bitter dark colored Italian cherry grown in Bologna and Modena. It is usually bottled in syrup and used as a decoration on rich chocolate desserts, here it adds amazing depth of flavours as it mingles with the chocolate and coffee notes of the beer and the warm oaky vanilla from the Bourbon barrels. It’s one hell of a beer..
